LOCATION—The Port of Vidalia is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River within the Vidalia Industrial Park.  Located along LA Highway 131, approximately 2.5 miles south of the City of Vidalia and US Highway 84, 2 miles from Concordia parish Airport and 6 miles from the Natchez Railway at Mississippi River Milepost 359 AHP. The Port of Vidalia is currently under construction and is an emerging shallow draft port. ​

ORGANIZATION—The Vidalia Port Commission was created by Act No. 10 of the 1981 extraordinary session of the Louisiana Legislature. It is governed by a board of commissioners consisting of 7 members who serve a 4-year term.

MAIN CHANNEL DEPTH—12 foot draft CARGO TERMINALS & FACILITIES—Construction began on the first operational stage of the Port of Vidalia in the Summer of 2014, and operations are anticipated to begin in Q2 2015. Completion of this Phase will provide a Cargo Ramp for loading & unloading aggregate, etc. as well as a t-dock & conveyor system for barge loading dry bulk materials. The Port of Vidalia currently consists of 75 acres within the 275 acre of the second Vidalia Industrial Park. Vidalia also purchased 345 additional acres of land to form the second Industrial Park. . BASF, Fruit of the Loom , Louisiana Elastomer, LLC and Precision Welding are located in the Industrial park.  *There are an additional 1125 acres of adjacent land available for industrial development.*
